Foods That Nourish Blood

The foods listed below nourish blood according to Chinese Medicine. If you have been described as blood deficient as a TCM diagnosis, try to include some of the foods listed below in your diet. Energy is needed to transform your food into Qi and blood – sit down when you eat and do not watch TV, read or use the phone while eating. Try to have warm foods that are slow cooked (especially in winter). Soups, stews and baked sweet potatoes are great as long as they are not cooked in a microwave.

Beans: Aduki, black soya, kidney

Fruit: Apple, apricot, avocado, date, fig, grape, mulberry
